Traders Yard II, Cardiff

This is a co-living extension to next door (Phase 1)

Although this is an extension of next doors, rather than consider a contrasting design, which would have added a good variety to this stretch of Penarth Road, it was seen more appropriate to continue the aesthetic from next door into the extension.

The aesthetic of next door took the essence of the existing Victorian warehouse on the site, which was in a sorry state both structurally and from modification. CWA felt that it said something about the area and suggested the design could capture its essence somehow. Therefore, it was felt that this could be rolled out further along Penarth Road, and both sites would be seen as a more cohesive development, adding to an already varied street, architecturally.
