Since its inception over nearly 25 years ago, CWArchitects have grown to become a highly experienced, design orientated boutique architectural practice, using the latest technologies and intelligent working to deliver high quality commercial projects.
The practice, throughout its time, has kept its ethos of providing a highly personal ‘hands on’ approach to all its projects, leading to long lasting client relationships. CWArchitects are a collaborative and design-led practice who are commercially aware, handling projects from £0.5m to £30m, from inception to completion.
CWArchitects have built up a varied portfolio of work, creating visually stimulating designs that deliver exacting operational requirements and are fiscally sustainable architectural solutions to real life commercial needs.

Director/Architect BA(Hons) Arch / B.Arch
Chris is a Co-Founder of CWArchitects and is a RIBA Chartered Architect. Chris has a wealth of experience, working in professional practices for over 30 years. Chris is the lead designer for the practice, responsible for taking projects from inception providing feasibility studies and concept designs as well as overseeing the whole process to completion. When he is not in the office, Chris likes to travel and participate in off-road biking

Director/Technical BSc Const. Man.
Darren is the Technical Director and Co-Founder of CWArchitects. Darren has over 30 years experience and manages the day to-day running of the business along with overseeing the construction working of the technical staff. Outside of work Darren is a keen golfer.

Rhys has been with CWA since 2009 and works closely with Chris, taking the concept designs through to planning and beyond. Rhys’ interests outside CWA include anything to do with sport!

Associate Architectural Technologist BA(Hons) Int. Arch
Claire joined the practice as an Associate in 2024. With over 16 years' of experience working within the architectural sector, Claire brings a range of experience from working on small to large scale projects from planning stage through to completion. Claire is passionate about accessible and dementia friendly design. Outside of the office Claire is an enthusiastic member of a local Cardiff choir and loves everything related to music. In addition, Claire is an avid runner and finds it a great way to clear her mind and stay fit.

Senior Architectural Technician ONC / HNC
Roger joined the practice in 2019 and since then has become an integral part of the team. He is leading projects valued between £0.5m and £30m, taking them from planning approval through the construction stages to completion. Roger’s interests outside of the office are cycling, gaming and travelling through France for the summer.

Architect BSc Arch / MArch
Cameron joined CWA in 2022 from the Welsh School of Architecture and has already experienced a wide variety of projects within the office, allowing him to work towards completing his Part 3 to become a qualified architect. His passion for design is evident and his skills are being utilised for each and every project he is involved with.
Outside of work Cameron likes to play guitar and pool.

How we work
C.W. Architects provides the services of two designers and three highly experienced technical staff - our secretarial services are also in-house.
We have external accountants and electronic imaging consultants who are able to provide state of the art photo-real project imagery.
The office is organised as one team with projects allocated to technical staff once planning permission has been granted. Our workload is balanced by taking only commissions, which will dovetail with the workload of the personnel.
