The Wharf, Cardiff

Taking lessons that were learnt from Trade Street, CWA also explored the Co-Living concept at this waterside location, which sits between Cardiff city centre and the bay. 

Taking ideas from its historical past, and combining this with contemporary architecture, which is now present along the wharf, a design was formed that could sit comfortably within the existing surroundings. 

Local vernacular is not very prominent and there are wide-ranging architectural languages happening up and down the wharf, so using the historical uses of the wharf as a reference point instead, allowed the architecture to steer the layout and form.
