Corn Street, Bristol

CWA provided design and construction phase services to restore and repurpose this Grade II listed building, originally built in 1878 to the designs of James Weir for the London and South West Bank.

Having been largely vacant for a number of years, the building was suffering from a lack of maintenance and investment prior to our client’s purchase. CWA provided a design that secured planning and listed building consent to change the use of part of the ground floor and all upper floors to provide 27 student bedrooms.

The subsequent conversion and restoration was a complete success, with CWA providing architectural and lead designer services through to practical completion.
